Paper Explainer — turn any paper you read into a one-page card
Subscribers get 30 explainer cards every month on top of their credits. Free accounts can try 1 card.
How credits work, what you can try for free, and what you unlock when you upgrade.
Everything on GAAbstract runs on credits. A subscription refills your credits every billing cycle; if you'd rather not commit, one-time credit packages give you the same credits with no recurring charge. Both feed a single balance, so you can subscribe, top up with a package before a deadline, or do both.
Paper Explainer turns any paper PDF into a one-page visual summary card — great for journal clubs, lab meetings, and reading notes. It's a membership perk: subscribers get 30 cards every month (no credits needed), and free accounts include 1 trial card. Credit packs don't include Paper Explainer — if you read papers every week, a subscription is the way to go.
Each generation, edit, and regeneration uses a small number of credits — starting from a PDF costs a little more than from text, since the AI reads and structures your whole paper. Journal covers and scientific posters draw from the same balance, and the plan table above shows how many credits each plan includes, so you can match a plan to how often you publish.
Yes. Every new account gets free credits — enough to generate, edit, and preview a real graphical abstract from your own paper, so you can judge the quality before spending a cent. Free downloads carry a small watermark; any paid purchase removes it.
A paid plan — or any one-time credit package — removes the watermark from your downloads and unlocks vector SVG export (ideal for meeting a journal's exact size and DPI requirements), plus the larger credit balance you need to iterate freely. Generating, editing, and previewing are open to everyone; paying is about clean, publication-grade output.
Yes, and that's the whole workflow. Every generation stays fully editable: change the layout, labels, terminology, icons, colors, and wording, or regenerate parts until the figure matches your result. Most researchers reach a submission-ready figure by iterating on a draft, not by nailing it on the first try.
GAAbstract produces publication-ready graphical abstracts you can take straight into your journal submission — clean layouts, accurate labels, and export formats journals accept. You stay in full control of the science and every word, refining any detail until the figure represents your result exactly. Export as high-resolution raster or scalable vector to meet your journal's size and DPI requirements.
Yes. Download your figure as PNG, JPG, or TIFF — or SVG vector on a paid plan — and place it directly into Word, LaTeX, PowerPoint, or a journal's submission portal, with no reformatting needed. Figures render at 300 DPI at standard single- or double-column widths, so they arrive at print resolution and the exact size journals expect.
Yes. The graphical abstracts, covers, and posters you generate are yours to use in manuscripts, talks, posters, and on social media — with no per-use or licensing fees once they're created.
Subscription credits refresh each billing cycle and are meant to be used within it. One-time credit packages stay valid for a full year from purchase — a better fit for researchers who publish in bursts rather than every month.
Yes — GAAbstract is built for researchers, so we offer education pricing for verified students and academic staff (currently 40% off for students and 20% for teachers). Apply from the pricing page with your academic credentials, and the discount applies to your plan once verified.
Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your account settings — changes take effect immediately, and if you cancel, your plan stays active through the end of the billing period. Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if you've used no more than 10% of your credits (a processing fee of up to 6% may apply). See our Refund Policy for details.
